I can help speed recovery from specific traumas such as muscle strains and sprains. I can also help with overuse injuries whether they are from sport or day-to-day life.
Many of the people I have met and treated are keen sports people, musicians and dancers. Because they are passionate about what they do they continue playing and performing even though it hurts until they have a chronic over-use injury.
I also offer preventative massage therapy. For example after a gruelling event, a recovery massage can help you recover more quickly and reduce the risk of injury. If you are passionate about a sport or activity that has some negative side-effects even if you are being careful, massage can help. For example, sports massage therapy can prevent delayed onset muscle soreness; DOMS by encouraging blood and lymph flow throughout the body and preventing muscle fatigue. Massage can also prepare you for an event or performance (up to 24hrs before)
If you come to me with an injury that needs expertise other than massage I will do my best to point you in the right direction, be it it physiotherapy, osteopathy or your GP
